Havana Affair
John Frusciante is one of rare guitar players who is able to have all the Ramones energy without sound of full distortion. Atmosphere of cover is more psychodelic and closer to the actual theme of the song as it is about the cold war and this kind of psychodelia is just what this song needed. Of course, I think original is a punk-rock holy grail, but in this case student beats the teacher. rhcp 4ever

usually i like the originals more, but in this case i think chili peppers version is a bit better....ramones version is punk rock, and its also great, but, as you said, rhcp gave it a little bit of psychodelia which really suits the song.....love RHCP....

I am a big RHCP fan and Ramones as well, but I really enjoy the more melodic RHCP cover. The Ramones were punk so I appreciate their original version too.
