Havana Affair
John Frusciante is one of rare guitar players who is able to have all the Ramones energy without sound of full distortion. Atmosphere of cover is more psychodelic and closer to the actual theme of the song as it is about the cold war and this kind of psychodelia is just what this song needed. Of course, I think original is a punk-rock holy grail, but in this case student beats the teacher. rhcp 4ever

Chilis are great and all, but I was really disappointed in this cover. Its way too soft, introspective. Part of the theme of rejecting the cold war stuff is the very fact it was so loud and fast, short and to the point.

the ramones version is more punk and the RHCP is more melodic and soothing. My preference is the RHCP cover

Oh, c'mon.
Ramones version really rocks, it's loud and fast. Red Hot fucked it up. Playing this live, they're crap, but listen to Havana Affair in Ramones' Loco Live, and you'll see, RAMONES IS BETTER.

Red Hot Chili Peppers being calles wannabees and a "studio band" (lmao at the 2nd one). People refusing to admit what an amazing band Ramones are, am I supposed to laugh or cry?
I didnt listen much to Ramones before I heard that cover, thanks RHCP for introducing me to Ramones.

I am an eleven year old Ramones fan!!! they rock!!! the "red hot chily peppers" or whatever are a bullshit group of wannabes! The Ramones will never die, even tho they've retired (and John, Douglas, and Jeffry are dead :<) any way, kids these days with this red hot chile peppers! I think the Ramones version is much better!
