The First Cut Is The Deepest
I won't count Rod Stewart's version from 1976 because, well, it's Rod Stewart. But I'm a sucker for Sheryl Crow.

Comments about The First Cut Is The Deepest:
I really like Sheryl Crow and I like her version, but I prefer Cat's. Besides, I don't like how she leaves off that all-important third line: "but when it comes to being loved (s)he's first".

Sheryl is a very good singer, but this one is faithful to the original singer as it well says....The first cut is the deepest-- and it surely is -- so the first one is best -- Cat Stevens'.

i love sheryl but cat's voice just nestles in my heart a different way. he puts his whole heart and sole into his music. there obviously is something special about his version that so many people remake it.

Sheryl Crow is likable enough, but for me the winner is Cat Stevens, hands down.

Cat Stevens was a special performer. I enjoy Sheryl's
music, but there's only one Cat Stevens.

I think Sheryl Crow's version is quite good, but:
The first cut is the deepest - so Cat Stevens is the winner for me.
