Britney Spears pointless cover version of this classic new jack swing anthem was insipid, hollow and crass. In short, she massacred it, turning an addictive funk song into a tuneless overproduced piece of throwaway pop fodder. Unfortunately, the travesty that such a timeless funk anthem has been desecrated will be lost on Spears fanbase - most of whom are too young to remember the original and will therefore "vote Britney" when "comparing" versions. Such a shame. If only there were copyright restrictions on stopping talentless bimbos ruining original songs.
