The Badfinger version (why are they not part of the voting? this song exemplifies the rationale for this site on the home page, a better version not played on the radio) blows Nilsson out of the water, his is way too schmaltzy, and I gack to imagine what Mariah Carey would have done with this song.

Out of these two Nilsson obviously wins, but what everyone seems to forget is that Badfinger had the 'original' version (which is on par if not better than his)

No doubt about it: It's Mariah's voice who lifts this song into a higher dimension. Both versions are good, but Mariah has never been better than on this one! Stunning voice!
