Stone Cold Crazy
Metallica covered Queen on their pure cover-cd, the 2nd CD of Garage Inc. With this album they wanted to pay tribute to the heros of their youth. Stone Cold Crazy sounds very similar to the original, but in my opinion noone can reach the distinctive voice of Freddy Mercury. But you decide!

Both versions sound great, but Metallica doesn't really bring anything to convince their version is better, so I think I'll stick with the original.

Okay Breagan Wallin, you're half right on this one. No one covers Queen. It's simply not done. But please don't compare Kirk Hammett to Brian May. As much as Freddie was Queen's heart, Brian was it's soul...still is.

You NEVER cover Queen EVER! NOONE can sing like Freddy Mercury could get over it. But I personally like Kirk's Guitar part more than Brian's which after reading their little letter inside the album I suppose is what they were trying to accomplish.

Whoever is undecided, watch it on youtube: Queen live performing Stone Could Crazy at the rainbow concert: Absolutely amazing. Metallica are great, but noone can top this! Freddie was unbelievable.
