Got the Time
Honestly? Anthrax took a really good stab at a great song -- but I just love the original too much. Sorry.

Comments about Got the Time:
I never even heard of Joe Jackson before Anthrax did this cover. The original sounds to "Punky" for me. Even though Punk was the step father to Heavy Metal, I hate it. So in my opinion: to all the early punk bands... thanks for the push start, we'll take it from here.

I heard the Joe Jackson version on a snowboard vid, then went to find it on the interweb and simultaneously found the Anthrax version.
They are my 1st and 2nd favourite songs at the mo', with Joe Jackson winning by a tiny margin for simplicity.

Scott Ian and Anthrax did the song justice. It's tighter that ne JJ version and I hate sloppy music so I have to go with the Anthrax version

I only found out last night that Joe Jackson had done the original, after watching a re-run of "My name is Earl"! I knew the Anthrax one was a cover, but not of which artist. Loved the Anthrax copy for years (I bought the album in Kuwait City after Gulf War 1), but time has mellowed me and the JJ version just shades it

Anthrax kicked this song into a better place.

Actually Anthrax did this song in the early 90's (still was a cover), but it was originally on their Persistance of Time album.
I like both versions, they each have their own good and bad points.
