How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You
Both versions of the song are equally great. I like both of them, but I tend to like the James Taylor version better.

Comments about How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You:
As a cover tune Taylor does a nice job of infusing his personality into it and that's nice, but when it's all said and done, it's still a copy. Give credit where credit is due. Marvin wrote the song and originally sang it...and Marvin's version is double dipped in his signature sexy. I agree with Marc's earlier comment. Marvin's version is definitely a motivator.

James Taylor's version is mostly James Taylor. Marvin Gaye's track is Marvin Gaye with strong backup singers. Taylor's is for sipping white wine on the patio; Gaye's is more of a dance number. Taylor's phrasing and emphases make his version a more distinctive treatment to my ears.

Marvin Gaye could sing better dead than James Taylor can alive.

@ Samantha from St. Charles. How can you say they are equal and then IN THE VERY NEXT SENTENCE contradict yourself.
Marvin for the win. Taylor puts me to sleep, Marvin makes me wanna ... show my baby how sweet she is.

How can anybody vote against Marvin Gaye
