It's clear most people prefer Henley's version. I knew I was right when I hypothesized that people would be split in half as to which one is better. However, I prefer that of the Ataris. Still, I've always held Henley in high regard.

I like both versions, listen to Henley's more often cause of the radio, but prefer Ataris over all.

I like both versions. I've heard Don Henley's version many times since I was younger because my father is a fan, but I like the way the Ataris re-did it. My father prefers Henley's version of course. lol

Ataris!!<3..prolly same reason - coz i heard it first..didnt even know about Don Henley before. but then again, from the youth's perspective - the ataris version is more appealing to me. i think they delivered it very well..i connect..in general, it's an awesome song - great melody: you're doomed to like it atleast a lil no matter how it's covered.

I am so sick of all the "covers" these days. Its like these bands admit they can't write anything really good, so they just parrot what they can't reproduce.

Sorry, I love the Ataris version. Probably because I heard this song first by The Ataris, so it just feels like them to me. Both versions are great though...
