Any Metallica fan who hates this song, is just not a Metallica fan. It was written for some forgotten girl at first, but it has become Metallica's song for their fans. It's an amazing song, beautiful chord progression, a tasteful solo and heart felt lyrics. No cover can compare to the original.

the metallica one is def. better... but there IS a version out there of the metallica song with a female voice added into it... sounds kinda like amy lee, from evanescence... but I cant find any record of it online... whoever it is, It sounds AWESOME... like it was always meant for 2 ppl to sing it

Pah. Metallica wins hands down. But being honest, i don't mind her version, it's actually good. I mean, atleast she didn't turn it into some crappy dance remix with a gangster rap in the middle somehow relating it to "the hood" and that idiotic ultra high pitched chipmunk effect on the voice...........

I like metallica but i also dont think lucie silvas is that bad. i have to say that i think both versions are good; at least lucie silvas did something different with it, i dont think you could call it a rip-off because its not like shes imitating metallica. i have both versions on my ipod and i listen to them both equally depending on what mood im in
